Hello, I’m Yung.

I’m a Melbourne-based product designer with 12 years of experience across industries — designing & launching products, brand identities, and digital experiences to help people do better.

I’m a Melbourne-based product designer with 12 years of experience across industries — designing & launching products, brand identities, and digital experiences to help people do better.

Originally from Kuala Lumpur, I began my career in 2012 — building up a multi-disciplinary background in branding, visual identity, editorial, illustration, and digital. I spent the last 6 years in product design, growth-stage startups, building up design teams, and product management.

I currently design People Analytics at Knoetic, a platform designed for Chief People Officers that combines powerful analytics with insights from an exclusive community of over 2,000 top HR executives.

Previously, I co-founded Staffie to address staffing challenges in Singapore’s F&B sector. Our platform connects F&B businesses with qualified part-time staff, and is actively supporting hundreds of weekly active businesses and over a thousand gig workers.

I worked as Lead Designer at Workmate—an on-demand staffing platform focused on improving employment opportunities for blue-collar workers across Southeast Asia. Here, I honed design workflows, team processes, and learnt the importance of measuring real product growth.

Prior to that, I co-founded Gridhaus, a design consultancy in Singapore dedicated to advancing SMEs through strategic design and branding that drives clear, goal-oriented outcomes.

After hours

Outside of my primary work, I reflect on lessons learned about product design, mental frameworks, career growth, and design culture through writing. These essays and insights are available here, and also on Substack and Medium.

I document and share other interests on YouTube as a creative outlet and a way to practice videography and editing.

My love for print and visual design lives on through side projects, a print store, a visual asset shop, and sharing snippets on Instagram. I also spent my thesis year researching and experimenting with inkjet, laser, and risograph printers as active design tools, attempting to stretch them beyond their typical use of printing final outputs.
